The Skate Park at Jim Warren Park was completed last year and has quickly become one of the most used facilities in our parks system. The old driver’s license facility adjacent to the skate park has been renovated for the offices of the Tennessee Parks and Recreation Association. City of Franklin Parks Director Lisa Clayton is the current president of this organization. The Board of Mayor and Aldermen have funded a professional services agreement for continued design of Bicentennial Park, Phase I. This will include design of the extension of Third Avenue North through the park and curving to connect to Hillsboro Road, improving the intersection at Hillsboro Road. This realignment will run closer to the historic cemetery with Fourth Avenue T-intersecting with this new road. This will create a much larger green space between this new road and the Harpeth River, and this space will be the first interpretive section of the park. |
