Recently Completed Initiatives
• Franklin Tomorrow Housing Task Force has identified 12 initiatives to address continued economic diversity of neighborhoods and moderately priced housing
• Franklin Housing Authority has agreed to allow the city to establish redevelopment district legislation
• Obtained county government approval for Tax Increment Financing (TIF) in redevelopment districts
• Served on steering committee to design and implement the Downtown Corridors and Connector Streets Economic Development Project, a 20-year streetscape initiative now included in the (CIP)
• The Franklin Transit Operations building on Columbia Avenue opened in April of 2007
Ongoing Redevelopment Initiatives
• Establish a redevelopment district in the historic core to encourage celebration of the Harpeth River, economic development and environmental cleanup
• Establish a redevelopment district on Columbia Avenue to address revitalization, neighborhood protection and housing diversity
• Encouraging residential and mixed-use infill projects in the downtown core such as Jamison Station on Liberty Pike adjacent to the Factory
• Serving as chairman on Civic Building Committee to construct a public safety building on Columbia Avenue and to program and design a new City Hall on the square
• Request for Qualifications for the development of a master plan for the City Hall property that will include a new City Hall on the square has been released
